could be a number of things.
1st AMMO tried different Brands? are the ones that are jamming hollow points? my mkI and MKII has never had a problem with any ammo. but something to rule out. 2nd extractor looking back at your pics the pistol does look pretty crusty, I'm not talking about the rust but carbon. you problem with FTF could be an extractor issue. perhaps there is some built up carbon/junk in the extractor spring channel. if you don't know how or don't feel like breaking it down (a real PITA to get back together)for cleaning, take both grip panels off and blast the hell out of the bolt with some carbcleaner.(use the little red straw attachment, and glasses) 3rd feed ramp. take a Q-tip and clean it up get all the carbon off there. wouldn't hurt to clean the chamber, although i don't think the chamber has anything to do with your problem. 4th Mags is it just one mags causing the jams or all. perhaps the feed lips are out of spec. 5th bullets properly seated in the mag. i have never had this problem with the MKI, MKII. hold the mag in your hand and smack is against the palm of your other hand, before inserting into the gun. I'm holding and looking over the MKI as i type this, i cant think of anything else to do or look for. hopefully one of the ideas will solve your problem. |

I can't find this answer anywhere:
Can a Mark II receiver and barrel fit on a Mark I? I want to purchase a threaded barrel and receiver for it if possible, only ones I have found are for the MkII and III, and are a bit pricy. The cheapest option is a P22 or Mosquito with the thread adapter but I would rather have a Ruger. Cheapest whole gun I found was $250 for a 22/45, and about $150 for the threading.
