Default P22 question

My buddy has a Walther P22. Whenever we all go shoot he always seems to have problems with the gun kicking the safety on so when you go to pull the trigger to fire another round it wont. Thought id see if anyone else has had this problem and what you did to correct it.

No. Every one i've ever shot has a rock solid safety. If it's loose enough to fall when shooting then that safety needs fixed.

Maybe the screw is just loose, but that ain't right.

Definately send it out - the safety on my P22 is actually difficult to move with one finger. After a good deal of shooting the actual lever had slight play in it (Tightened the screws to resolve that issue) but moving the lever to the safe position still took some effort.

Call Walther (or S&W) about repair...my safety is rock solid and doesn't move at all during shooting.

Default Re: P22 question

I read about this issue on a forum somewhere awhile back when debating the purchase of another P22, if I recall correctly it was an issue with the 'older' models (before they updated with 'B' labeled mags, etc.) from a few years ago. There was also an issue with a slide pin working itself loose (neither of which I've had with mine though).

All you've gotta do is send them to Walther/S&W and they'll 'update' (read: fix) 'em for free. I read your post saying you already did, just wanted to post and say that it is an existing problem with some models and they will fix it (again, from what I've read, haven't had said issue).
