I just may take you up on that. I still have a couple hours of free range time coming to me. After that I'll probably be shooting at Classic Pistol Since it's ALOT closer to me.

yeah, i think they are smoking crack on that one... yes, it WOULD work, but the problem is that not very many people at all press up against something with a firearm PERPINDICULAR to the barrel. most of the time one would press with a slight downward angle, and then the guide rod doesnt hit crap and the slide moves back... silly. i think some just said "hey, lets tell people this and it will sell more"

Ditto on the "good purchase" comments and "the wallet never being the same". Your shooting off hand (I assume) would still put a bad guy in the proper place! You will only improve with practice and your new gun with some use. Remember that every firearm has a favorite ammo load. I almost got rid of some of mine before I found this out. I thought that they didn't shoot worth a darn and didn't function at 100%. Try lots of different ammo. When you find your gun's favorite, that's the stuff you want to stock up on. I even have a couple of autos that prefer very cheap ammo over the spendy stuff, which is great for me (go figure). Glad 2 see a new owner/shooter in the world!

Congrats on your purchase! Just a word, don't worry about the targets, they look really good for a newer shooter with your first handgun. Take your time getting to know the gun and get some good instruction. Focus on the fundamentals of sight alignment and trigger controll, take your time and the accuracy will come.

As my instructor always said, "Practice makes permanent, perfect practice makes perfect!"

Welcome to the wonderfully addictive hobby that is known as gun ownership. I personally started my collection with a USPc in .40 with the LEM trigger option. I now own the following: (I started buying in Febuary of this year)

Romanian TT33
CZ52
Sig P6/225 (best gun value out there right now as far as pistols are concerned... SERIOUSLY GET ONE WHILE YOU CAN AND GIVE ME YOUR EXTRA MAGS)
Mosin M38
Mosin 91/30
Swedish Mauser (1904 Carl Gustalf)
K31 - JULES BOSSHARD EDITION
K31 - not as funny troop name edition
Romanian "G" kit (currently under construction)
Stag Arms AR15
HOPEFULLY (fingers crossed) SA85M AK47 clone... oh how much I want this rifle

Its an incredibly rewarding hobby, allows you to let off stress at pieces of paper (or fruit, soda cans etc if you have your own land), learn the incredibly complex and vast history behind each and every firearm, and make you look cool(er) to other people who have a similar lust for firearms. Seriously, I have made more great friends through gun ownership than any other hobby. You will meet some of the most interesting people and hear some of the most entertaining stories from fellow gun owners.

Welcome to the club, and keep going, you will be hard pressed to find a more rewarding hobby and even harder pressed to be a part of a community which is so supportive and interesting.

ROCK ON \m/
