Is this an abidextrous safety? If so, I have a similar problem w/ my 1911 and my grip in that the first knuckle of the pointer/trigger finger of right hand rides up and pushes against the lever on same side of pistol. I am now working at riding the right hand thumb on top of the left side safety lever. Problem solved.

sure seems like what noah said Detent not deep enough. But i would get rid of that extended safety too!
