Default Last ? before purchase

Please help. I have it narrowed down to

Bersa Thunder 40 HC
Ruger P94
Taurus 24/7 Pro
S&W Sigma

All 40 cal
All under $450.00 OTD

This gun will be mainly for home defense. If/When I get a LTCF I will buy a carry gun but my main concern is at home since my neighborhood seems to be going downhill fast.
I am also concerned that when the SHTF in this country it will happen sooner rather than later.
If I could afford more I would but $450 is my limit.

i honestly would not like price deter you from finding something better, not saying your choices are bad pistols, just saying for 100 dollars more you open the field up. Good Luck with whichever you may choose!

I carry a sigma everyday. I think its very accurate, reliable and its cheap. Some say trigger pull is hard around 11lbs. The first time at the range this did bother me. Second trip it wasn't bad at all. Don't know much about the others. But I do like Ruger. Although I never fired any of their semis. I had a Taurus PT99. Didn't like that model that much. But didn't have any problems with it. I'm sure others will help soon.

Looked at any USED guns?

That would give you more options. Ex: G22 and G23's are in your price range if used.

Believe me, If I could I would but that extra $100 is going towards a pistol safe which is mandatory(as far as I'm concerned) with a toddler in the house.

$450 for the gun
$150 Pistol safe
$150/year range membership + cost of ammo 2-3 times a month
More than I should be spending but I see bad times coming.

Actually I have and saw a used G23 in the price range but I'm concerned about buying someone elses problems. If you know what I mean.

I have a Taurus 24/7 Pro. I like it well enough. (Gotta clean my mags though)
I've shot a Sigma and hated the trigger. Worst trigger I've ever pulled. I don't have any experience with the others on your list.

This would be very, very unlikely.

Dont forget that if you buy a used gun at cabelas, you get a 30 day 100% return guarentee! That means you could by expensive used gun that cost way more than you can spend now, But may be priced at your price range now, And if it has any issues, You can return it and get ALL your $s back.
Just because it is new doesnt mean that it wont have any issues!
I recommend a nice used Smith and wesson 357 revolver.
Peter
