I agree, I would beg or borrow for that extra $100 and buy a better pistol (glock) I saw on another post of someone who had found a great place to buy Glocks real cheap, If borrowing the money to get a better one is an option for you let me know via PM and I'll see if I can get you a better price than that website mentioned, and the price may not be an extra 100 but well see. Let me know in the mean time I will call him and see what his price is total out the door for a Glock 21 full size .40cal. Oh just for you info, I bought a $8 lock and key assembly and drilled a hole in a drawer and chissled wood away for the latch and I have a perfect place to keep my loaded gun and I have no worries of anyone getting into it when it's locked, just a thought aswell. The trouble I see with a handgun safe is if someone breaks into you house they'll just take the safe and get it open on their own time.

I would buy the Ruger if you can not find a used gun in your price range. If you have Harbour Freight where you live the have a digital small safe for less than $50.00 that works very good for a couple of handguns. We bolted ours to a 2x12 about 8 foot long in the closet. This gives you secure storage when away, the night stand works when you are present.

The difference in safes and buying used should let you pretty well buy what you want.

I'd look around. You can find Glocks for $499. I would not hesitate to buy a used Glock either. They run forever...my friend carries a 23 that has over 80,000 rounds through it.

Used Glock, no doubt about it, you can find used Glocks for $450 or less all day long. The last 2 used gen 3's (98%) I bought were less than $400.

For HD get a short barrel shotgun or a shotgun "combo" deal. Easier to master, easier to use, safer around a toddler in my opinion.

Best regards,
chalmitch

Get it...you'll be much better off.

If there's a problem with the gun, Glock will fix it. If a small part is worn out, they can be replaced cheap and easy.

Most people don't shoot their guns all that much. I got my G19 used, put new small parts in it (~$35) and it's run 10k rounds just fine since then.

Get the glock if you can, we can advise you as to what parts to replace and how, if you want.

It's a better gun than your other listed options.
