The CZ 75 is real craftsmanship.

I almost picked up an XD, (some time ago) before a guy that I know at a high volume shop that I do business with stopped me and informed me of all of the cracked slides, poor customer service etc. that they have faced by selling the XD. I can tell you first hand that my CZ 75 is better to shoot than any SIG, HK or Glock that I own, and anyone who has ever read my posts will tell you how big I am on my Glocks. My friend has that very CZ 75 in his shop right now. The grips are great, the night sights are sweet and I know how the CZ 75 shoots. If I were single and not such a complete Gun Whore I would have that friggin' gun in my safe right now.

The trigger is great too - Hands down; it is the best buy out there for a quality piece of craftsmanship that is built to perform and last.
Really because my buddy said the opposite..he had some issues where the gun wouldn't go back into battery when the XD 45 first came out and said that the SA customer service was EXCELLENT....

I really can't see an xd slide cracking.

There's alot of steel there.

Get the CZ. I think XDs are more ugly than Glocks are considered to be.

I think it's happened across the ejection port area.

I've never cared for either the trigger on the CZ or XD...too much movement for me.

A Sig 226 9mm SRT package would excite me, though.

I'm thinking taking my fiance to the shop and let her try both. My shop has both of them in stock(well, Not CZ75B, but they have Tanfoglio TZ75, which I understand is basicaly an Italian Clone of CZ75), and see.

If its entirely up to me, CZ will be on order. But I do want my fiance to have one she like as well.

And I mean 3193 is nice gun, but in reality, 8rds just isn't enough to servive a zombi apocalypse, eventho in movie, they prolly will. I have 3 mags for 3913, but mags are expensive for 8rder...

Sheesh, I cannot even decide which one to recommend. Draw straws? or... let her pick and know your money was well spent either way.

I've been on the XD forums for a LONG LONG time, and I haven't seen or heard about any slides cracking and breaking. I definately would have heard about it alot more if all the business that move high volumes of them were getting alot of them returned. I seem to remember that some of the 40's were having a little trouble, but I didn't think it was with the slides. All the problems that I heard about, if someone's XD cracked or broke or something, Springfield replaced it no questions asked. I have had nothing but great stories with Springfield's customer service. I think there is a bit of bias, exaggeration, or misinformation here, because I've not experienced or know anybody that has had problems with what you talk about.

I personally own a Springfield XD-45 Tactical, thousands of rounds through it, and not one malfunction, part breakage or anything else. You can do a sweet trigger job on them for nothing, I'm talking around $50. There are tons of accessories for them now, so that never hurts. I have never shot any CZ pistols, but from the comments that others have said and compared it to, it sounds like a nice pistol as well. I think you're doing the right thing by letting her hold both, see what she thinks so ya'll can make an agreement together. I'm not trying to be biased, but I just wanted to say that I have never hear ANYTHING like what scud is talking about. Either way, to each their own I guess.

Default Re: Can't decide!!!

the CZ has been THE pistol in europe for forever ! proven and time tested.

the XD tho new is still a great pistol also and is something i am considering also.

i have a CZ in .40 cal and love it

i would love to get either an XD or M&P in .45

im not a fan of the 9mm but IF i were to buy a full/mid sized one i think i would go for the CZ 75..

That is all great, but the dealer that informed me of this is in a Very high volume shop. I was seriously considering picking up an XD in .45 ACP. He told me to stick with my Glocks, and when I asked why; that is what he told me. I was not buying that day. I was only window shopping, and he knew it. The guy had nothing to gain from telling me that, and I don't just buy from one place either.

Having said that... I stand behind my comments one hundered percent. I would take my CZ 75 over my SIG 226. That is how highly I esteem this weapon. It is not the AK of handguns, but it is hard to beat.

One more thing here. If you like your XD - Great! Shoot a CZ and see what I am talking about. You are not comparing apples with apples.
