Tough call.

Although the XD is made in Croatia, some of the money goes to Springfield in IL. I'd rather the money go overseas to CZ than to IL. One of. . . what, two or three states in the country that has never issued a carry permit.

Third option here.

You mentioned she likes the S&W 3913, start tracking one of them down. Towards the end of last year, I decided I wanted a 3913 also. Took me about 2 months to find a NIB one. Well I'm here to tell you it was worth the effort. This is THE BEST single stack 9mm I have ever handled. Carries very well, you have 8+1 capacity, shoots like a much bigger firearm, and Smith is still making mags. I cannot stress enough to you how happy I am with it. I wasn't ever much of a Smith semi-auto fan until I held one of these.

The gun will shoot anything you put in it, and there is something to be said for Smith's 3rd generation of semis.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your decision.

I have experiance with both.
I dont like DA/SA triggers. I have bought and sold more than one gun with them. It is much easier to learn how to shoot, and shoot well, a gun with one consistant pull. Nevermind that most DA/SA owners wont shoot the DA enough to be able to shoot it well. If you need it, that first shot is going to be the most important, and its going to be DA. But the CZ you have is not with a decocker, but with a safety selector, so you should keep it cocked and locked. In which case its SA all the time. Trigger on those CZ's is not the best in the world, it will overcock the hammer right near the end. They do have some good ergonomics though.
I have a 40B now, which is a 75 series at heart in a 1911ish frame in 40SW. I spent a long afternoon at Lycans installing a competition hammer and consequential trigger job. It is one hell of a shooter now ! Trigger is outstanding! If you come to PMSC for a group shoot you can take it for a spin. Its a whole nother gun.
The XD will eat anything you feed it, its easier to break down, mags are cheaper, more accesories and prob more to come.

They each have their good points.

How much are you looking to spend?

Shawn broke it down well. I don't have either, but have shot both.

Basically, I hate da/sa guns. I would get the XD because it's striker-fired. Plus it's badass.

Shawn broke down the rest.

I have to agree with K9346 on this. Very good gun, and if it is for you wife, this one is perfect for her. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIte...Item=105929234

K9346, I must been tired(I worked nightshift last night).
Sorry for not stating it correctly.

My fiance likes "HER" 3913.

3913 is great gun. Its easy to shoot, easy to CCW(For me), and rubust. Dead reliable too...
Only thing I dont care for is that it only carrys 9rds (8 in mag, 1 in tube), and these days with high capacity days, I would like her to have choice of single stack and double stack.

What I don't understand is that she said she liked XD9Service when she shot it, but she hate my M&P. She wouldn't even try it.
And to me, those 2 are same pea in the pot. If anything, M&P is easier to shoot, because of better grip.
So I don't mind getting one. I just hope she likes it as she said she does.

And CZ... I held one once, and i was sold. ol' Jeff Cooper was right. Its prolly one of best DA/SA guns out there(Other then 92F/S).
I want it more for myself admitably.

OMG!! I have not read any of the other posts, but this is not even a decision. GET THE STAINLESS CZ75. This is a sweet piece - hands down! Get it. I would not have a second thought on the matter.

If this is going to be a carry gun then go with the lighter one. Besides that will make her happy.

Ok--I will liken your buying scenario to this: If you could buy a BMW or a Saturn, (both new) for the same money, which would you buy?

The CZ 75 is real craftsmanship.

I almost picked up an XD, (some time ago) before a guy that I know at a high volume shop that I do business with stopped me and informed me of all of the cracked slides, poor customer service etc. that they have faced by selling the XD. I can tell you first hand that my CZ 75 is better to shoot than any SIG, HK or Glock that I own, and anyone who has ever read my posts will tell you how big I am on my Glocks. My friend has that very CZ 75 in his shop right now. The grips are great, the night sights are sweet and I know how the CZ 75 shoots. If I were single and not such a complete Gun Whore I would have that friggin' gun in my safe right now.

The trigger is great too - Hands down; it is the best buy out there for a quality piece of craftsmanship that is built to perform and last.
