Default Trijicon or Tru-Glo

I will be in the market for new sights here in the near future. I'm gonna replace the big, ugly and gaudy things on my glock 21 and would like some personal experiences, pros and cons etc. keep in mind that I will eventually be using the gun for work and protecton and it will be carried all the time, so they will have to be durable as well as functional.

Trijicon makes excellent night sights. Tru-Glo makes a great sight, but they do not make the tritium lamps. Odds are, Trijicon makes the lamps for Tru-Glo.

Pick the sight that works best for you. You are the only one that needs to be happy in the end.

Trijicons are the top choice for hard use.

I'm not too excited about the Tru-Glo's...they rob your sight radius, and they're too big (which to me, makes me worry about snagging them and breaking them off.)

Check out the Warren Tactical sights...I love mine.

I've been researching XS Sights lately. You might want to check them out.

No, I do NOT have any experience with them yet. Sorry.

I used em for a while (probably about 4k rounds)....I'd say pass on them unless you have bad eye sight.

I won a couple IDPA matches using them, made hits at 50 yards on 12" plates with them...etc. Shot em just as well close up, too.

BUT, they're slower out past 10 yards. Inside of 10 yards, sight picture can be shaky and you'll still get decent hits.

I ripped em off my Glock, and I'm glad I did. I'm using the Warren Tactical sights now, with a NS on the front only, and they're just as fast up close, and much faster (than XS) at distance.

I used to love em, and I still can shoot them well, but I don't think they're worth it unless you have vision troubles and can't see your front sight, normally.

My preference these days is towards plain black (or single dot- no outline) rear sights with a WIDE notch, and a sharp black front sight post with a white outline around green tritium. I personally don't care for the serrations on the Heinie rear sights, but many like them.

I put Trijicons On my Glock 30, and love them. They are very bright, clear easy and fast acquisition. Love em!!! Plus they come with a 12 year lamp warranty.

I got the factory trijicons on my G23. I think they do a decent job in low light conditions.
