Ruger advertises the pull as 8 pounds. Looking forward to the report

Yea im just assuming the pull is 5 lbs (see pics at bottom of article). Im going off a review that gunblast.com did on the lcp. The trigger deff dosent feel like 8lbs at all, that much i do know.

If you go here:
http://65.172.200.34/ruger/ruger.htm

and click on the links in the posting, you will see that the LCP has a chamber like the Glock's. Much of the bottom of the chamber has been removed to facilitate feeding.
Apparently the Keltec is similar.
The point is that cases fired in the LCP may be bulged and not advisable for reloading.
I wouldn't want to load .380's anyway,as they are too small for my fingers!

This link will show both the Keltec and the LCP chambers:

http://www.mouseguns.com/p3atbarr/feedramp.htm

If the guy in the first link is correct, and the LCP barrel thickness at the swaged section near the muzzle,is only 0.013" thick - that's amazing!

OK RANGE REPORT!!!

But i forgot my camera when i went to the range, so no pics sorry

First off the bad.....I had a few FTE with CCI 95gr blazer brass, but no FTE with federal hydra shoks. Im sure this will work its way out after soem more rounds are though the gun. Maybe 5 FTE's in all. The grip on the gun frame is small and i had trouble with shot to shot grip consistency. Basically after each shot no mater how hard i tried to hold the gun it always seemed to move. Someone needs to make better sights for it. Im thinking nitesighters possibly.

The good, the shots are pretty smooth, slide travel is smooth in its operation. I was shooting at 10 yards and while I admit i was all over the target, being this is the first time shooting the gun. Although after some grip adjustments and finger on trigger placement i was able to put 5 rounds in about a 3 inch group about 2 inches low of where ever i was aiming. The trigger pull is about 5lbs as i said before and it wasnt even a factor. I also took the gun out to 20 yards, and i know that a strech for this gun, but out of about 15 shots 8 landed on paper in about a 5 +/- inch group. That about a 53% hit rate at that distance... not too bad for a 2inch barrel. If i moved in to about 7 yard which i didnt have the opportunity to do, the groups would be bit better.

All in all im pretty impressed. Ruger made a nice P3AT. Im also willing to bet that the P3AT performs just as well. Im happy with the purchase. I just wanted something small for pocket carry when i go to take the dog out late at night or something i can throw in some mesh shorts while jogging. I got a desantis nemisis pocket holster and 2 extra mags on the way. Also i measured the size of the magazine and it the exact hight of a Bic Lighter, and about as wide. So carrying a extra mag is like having a lighter in your pocket.

Thats all i can think of as of right now, any questions just ask and i will try to answer.

Todd

Any word on grip extensions yet? I just can't shoot with my pinky hanging in the breeze like that.

I have read that the P3AT mags work in the Ruger, and kel tec makes the pinky and +1 shot extension for their mags, so im assuming that you could just buy a P3AT mag and the extension and throw it in your LCP.

Any more to report about your LCP? The more I look at the little pistol and read reviews and such, the more I think I want one. Have you tested any carry ammo yet?
