Default Finished my .22 target pistol

I recently purchased a 22a Smith and Wesson. Pics is my other thread. I finally finished it today, I bought the wood grips and found a small dremel tool and polished the hell out of the feed ramp, and did a things to smooth out the trigger alot. I was shooting her in a at about 15ish yards and she is SURGICAL. Going to take her out to 50 ft Thursday and see how she dose. Question, Dose anyone know what distances the usually shoot .22 bullseye pistol at???

National Match Course:

10 rds 50 yards 10 minutes 2 strings of 5. Reload during timing ie all 10 shots in 10 mins.
10 rds timed fire - 2 strings of 5 rds in 20 secs for each string at 25 yds
10 rds rapid fire - 2 strings of 5 rds 10 secs. for each string at 25 yds

Awesome looking. You may have cost me $$$, now I want one

I usually shoot my scoped beretta neos .22 at either 25 or 50 yards. I get good groupings at 25 yards, a little looser at 50. but still within a few inches

Yup, that is the National Match course ranges 25 and 50 yards. Of course there are many other type of matches including 50 feet like for gallery shooting.

Also the National Match competitions that I've participated in were a full course (30 rounds as described above) each for rimfire, then centerfire, then .45 for a total of 90 rounds ALL with iron sights although there can be an unlimited category if the sponsors wish.

BTW as for too far for pistol, I use to shoot the course with a .22 SHORT target pistol (High Standard Olympic Citation).

That is a verry nice looking 22 you put together and should shoot well for a long time.

I started in competition years ago (1973) shooting bullseye. Never got real good at it and I still respect those shooters a lot, it takes a lot of practice to get to that (NM and Olympics) level. I shot a High Standard Supermatic Citation (boy do I wish I still had that gun today) for the 22 course and a 45 auto for both centerfire and 45 courses (true purests would have all three guns, but I could barely afford the 2 I had.
