Default Re: Surplus Sigs

We just bought one from Dans yesterday on the recommendation of my brother.

It's probably going to end up mine, but DH will try it out and may still buy the Glock he wants from a friend.

On every one of the P6 pistols that I've seen for sale, the letters "NW" were stamped on the right side of the slide. This stands for the German state of "Nordrhein-Westfalen," and the LaPol organization that owned these particular guns. "Nord-West" is in the area of Duesseldorf-Rechlinghausen in the <surprise> northwest part of Germany north of Frankfurt.

So if someone were interested in purchasing one of these Surplus Sigs from Dan's, how do you go about it. Can all the paperwork be done there or does it need to be completed somewhere else? Just curious. My son and I may be interested in purchasing one each.

Thanks

I take it you've never ordered a gun online or from a shop other than one local to you?

The process is pretty simple, find a local FFL and let him know where to fax his credentials to, call Dan's and let him know what you would like to order and to keep a lookout for the paperwork from your FFL and pay for the items. Dan's will then ship to your FFL and then you go to your FFL. After filling out the transfer paperwork/ undergoing a background check, you then pay the transfer fee and then the FFL gives the gun to you.

That is exactly the info I was looking for, now to find someone in the Pgh area when we decide to purchase.

Thanks
