Over the weekend I had a interesting conversation on 'First Handgun'.
So, I'll ask the question of the forum:

What was your first handgun ?

Do you still have it?


Mine was S&W 19/.357 and I still have it. (ADDED --- year 1978 for $208)

My first was a Ruger Security Six bought NIB in 1974 for $76.50. Sold it in 1991 to buy a GP100 (which I still have). Between 1974 and now have bought many and sold only a few.

A 1911A1 made by Auto Ordinance in West Hurley long before Kahr bought them. I no longer have it as at the time I was buying and selling rather quickly until I found what I was looking for. I'm back to the 1911 style as my main carry piece these days. I've never owned any handgun I could shoot as accurately and I've tried a bunch over the years.

My first one was a Browning Buckmark .22

I don't have that one anymore, but I still have a Buckmark.

S&W 66-2 Combat model, 6" barrel. I still have it, and as mentioned in another thread, it's my favorite, hands down.

I walked into Shooter's World in Merritt Island, FL, saw it in the case ANIB, handed over $235 cash, walked out the door. No paper work, no "registration", no background check, no questions asked. Here's 100 rounds of .38 spl, 100 rounds of .357 mag., have a nice day. An indoor range was next door, $3/hour/lane. Buy the ammo from them and get free use of any used gun in the cabinet, along with free human silhouette targets. Ah, the good ole days.

Mine was a CZ 52 and I still have it. I even got a 9mm barrel for it.

hard to answer but i got a H&K USP 45 and a sig P226 9mm on the same day. and yes love both weapons and still actively carry them.
