My first handgun was a used Sig Sauer P226, and I still have it. I only bought it three or four years ago, but I can't imagine why I would ever get rid of it. Its a great gun.

Dan Wesson Model 15-2V .357 Magnum revolver. Bought it in the early '70's.
It's gone now...sold it to buy a Glock 17L in '88. Still have the Glock though... |

Colt .380 Pocket Hammerless, Model 1908. I bought it for $90 in '77 and still have it. It's a fun little shooter, and a good starter pistol for new shooters because of its low recoil.
It has the classic scooped out curve at the muzzle end of the slide that also found its way to the 1911. It's small, flat, and conceals nicely, but is not a good EDC due to inadequate caliber and occasional FTFs. According to the serial number, it was made around 1915. Not the best photo, but here it is. You can't see it from this angle, but there actually is a (miniscule) front site.

Excellent! I did most of my first handgun shooting with "Classic" Sigs (226, 228, 225) that belonged to my older friends. I never bought one myself, giving in to Glock Fever when I got my first gun. I always loved the 228/225 and when I had the chance I bought THREE of those German police trade-in P6's. Congratulations.

I bought my first handgun back in 1976 or thereabout. It was a .22 Colt Huntsman, manufactured in 1967, originally sold to a Navy boy at the PX on Guam. It came with the original box, invoice and owner's manual. I picked it up at a pawn shop in Deland, Florida. Oh, I bought it because I was born on that Navy base in Guam back in 1954. I still have (and shoot) the handgun and it looks 95% of new to this day. Only a little bluing rubbed off on the front sight.

That’s one of the coolest Colts I’ve ever seen. My friend has one in .32 that dates to 1939. It’s a fun shooter. They’re probably worth around $700 these days.
