Default Re: HK Mark 23

Can someone help me to understand what makes this pistol so wonderful?

From an end user standpoint, what did this pistol offer that a HK Tactical can't? Or an HK45 can't with a threaded barrel?

I mean, the pistol AFAIK, was removed from current widespread SOCOM usage for a reason...it's too large for what it offers.

I mean, it's kinda neat, and unique...but it seems like the whole appeal of the thing was that it was a SOCOM specialty pistol...but doesn't the fact that SOCOM essentially gave it the thumbs down kill that buzz?

I'm not trying to hate on people liking something just because it's unique, or collectable or anything...but looking at it from a practical standpoint, what is it that puts this gun ahead of the pack? Why would I want THIS gun on my hip when I kick in a door? etc

Apparently I'm not alone in my opinion.....
