The PT145 is a SA/DA trigger. Some like the feature, some don't. I happen to like it.
I have the 24/7 Pro in .45acp. I've got no complaints about my Taurus. I've never shot Glock so I can't help you there.

It's practically blasphemy to compare that gun to the equivalent Glock.
Get the Glock, you will be much happier. If you run a search, you'll see why I say this. It's not just the "early" guns that have problems with them. |

I briefly owned the latest generation Taurus PT145 Pro. It felt good, never jammed, fed everything, but I couldn't hit the broad side of a Pennsylvania Dutch barn with it standing on the inside. I read several posts on different forums with testimonies of the guide rod punching through the end of the slide after 500 rnds. This was on the new versions, mind you, not the older ones. Well, since I was approaching the 500 rnd mark of frustration POI shots, I traded it at a 50% loss at a gun show and was happy to take the loss. Tauri do not hold their value, at all. Glocks will not let you down for the99.99% of the time and will hold their value. JMO, YMMV.

No comparison..One has supposedly had "early problems" that are now resolved, and one has never had problems. Hmmm...I'll take the Glock, thank you. And that's saying something, because while I owned a Glock 23 for a few years, I wouldn't buy another...The gun functioned flawless, I Just don't care for them.
Now...If I had to choose between only a Glock and a Taurus, I'd buy another Glock. I have just never been a fan of Taurus pistols. If you are looking for a compact, why not give the XD a look? It's what I have settled in to for the last few years, and I couldn't be more happy. Many other people feel the same way. Good luck and happy shopping!

I own both and like both, in the end the decision is more a function of your budget. Both are dependable, reliable , and accurate for the distances intended. I have had dozens of students qualify with both pistols and have heard no negative feedback about either model.

Plenty of negative feedback on Taurus, but not from students who qualified with the PT145. The question was model specific.

I hear of way too many people having trouble with Taurus. However, you may get a good one. Between these two go with the Glock 30. Just about everyone who owns a G30 seems to really like them. I hear lots of positive feedback although I have never fired one. I'm also thinking with the G30 there will be more choices for holsters.
