Gotta go with the Ket-Tec P3AT.

My favorite is the Seecamp .380 with the Colt Mustang coming in a close second place. My distant third pick would the SIG.

Note: Buyer may need to relocate to Europe. ![]() Seriously though, this isn't any different than any other "what do you suggest" thread. There are a lot more factors to consider than caliber and cost. Does your buddy's wife know why she wants a .380, or was that decided by your buddy?

If your buddy is absolutely insistent on the idea of getting his wife a .380, and can't be convinced to just get her a 9mm (cheaper ammo, more reliable, better ammo, more stopping power, and so on) tell him to look for a Colt Mustang or the P3AT.
Both of those .380s fire from a locked breech, which is important if his primary goal is low-recoil. The Seecamp is nice, but it's blowback, which means heavier recoil, and a heavier slide.
