Talking Kahr CW9 vs Kahr CW45

I'm am in the market to purchase a new CCW (after I sell a Bass Guitar Amp).
I have already made my mind up that I am going to get a Kahr CW... but which one is the problem.

The choice I am faced with is between the 9 or the 45...

I like both for obvious reasons

CW9
Thinner by about 1/10 of an inch (big difference on a guy my size.)
Cheaper ammo! (as I am always on a tight budget for every tool or toy I want)
larger magazine capacity (7rd vs. 6rd in 45)
lighter (by 1oz I believe)
easier to shoot for extended periods of time (so I'm told, .45 may not recoil as much as expected)
shorter in height and overall length

CW45
Stronger caliber
.45 holds a bit more weight on the BAD ASS scale!
.45 makes louder BANG!
Already at my local gun dealer for a pretty good price (CW9 needs to be ordered... I hate waiting for toys/tools)
.45's are just plain old BAD ASS!

If anybody has a little experience/info/reasoning to ad into the mix of my in-decisiveness and confusion, it would be greatly appreciated!

I love making the hard decisions in life!

I would go with the CW9....

I had the CW 40 & didn't like it very much, I sold it and bought a G26.

The gun hurt your hand after shooting several Magazines at the Range.

It had a lot of recoil & jumped around in your hand.

It wasn't very accurate for most people who shot it because of the reasons above.

If I would have purchased the CW9mm in the first place, I probably would still own the gun.

It is very small & light weight. It concealed very, very well.

Make sure you put around 500 rds thru before regular carry it. It takes awhile to break the pistol in. - Kahn states it in the Booklet that comes with the gun.

Oh yeah - I forgot - You can purchase extended Mags for the 9mm up to 8 or 9 rounds in the single stack.

9mm is the way to go - Cheaper Ammo = you can practice with this carry weapon more.......

Cool Re: Kahr CW9 vs Kahr CW45

Chauka... You have a few good points for the 9mm. That is where I want to go but I am always weighing the pros and cons of everything. In-decisive is my middle name. I guess the main reasons I would even look at the .45 is the firepower, it's already at the shop, and the BAD ASS factor of a .45... other than that, common sense tells me to go with the CW9.

Thanks for the advice!

I felt the same way at Ace's Sporting Goods in Washington , Pa.

I had both pistols in my hand - the dude behind the counter recommended the 9mm.

My ego told me buy the bigger caliber .40

I am sorry that I did!!!

purchase +p ammo & you will be O.K.

They had a bunch in stock when I purchased mine --- that was over a year ago.

Call them - They let you know - My guess is two weeks????

I have a CW9. If I find another for the right price, I'll carry a brace of them.

With DPX as carry load, it is a nice shooter.
