Default Need a 1911 tuneup

Anyone able to point me toward a gunsmith here in PA that specializes in 1911work? I am looking to have someone do a "reliability" job on a SA MilSpec. I would like to keep my business here as opposed to shipping out to Briley or Robar.

Thanks, Jack

Or Gans Guns (Gary Natale). Both do great work.

They're actually in Quakertown. EGW has been one of the top shops in the country for years. I remember hearing of them longer ago than I care to admit to.

Thanks Bill. Since you seem familiar with EGW is it possible they had their shop in
Doylestown at one time back in the mid '90's, or has it always been in Quakertown?
I seem to recall a machine shop near the airport off RT 611 but the name has slipped
me. As I recall they did a fair amount of pistol work.

BTW I appreciate both suggestions, I guess I will have to flip a coin. It seems being in the central part of the State would have me traveling equal distance to EGW to the east or Gans to the west.

How fast do you want the work done? Gans is quick, EGW is not.

yea.. I asked them about few things while back(installing ambi safety, front strap checkering and their reliability work(I think thats what they call it), and answer was something like 2.5 months, after they recieve the gun, and they will let me know when I can send the gun in.

Guess they are backed up..
