Just packed up a 1911headed for Gans yesterday. Dealing with Gary was good, he is very sincere and to the point. No walk-ins right now, but you can send it to him and still have decent turn-around. I'm having quite a bit done, and he estimated 4 weeks.

I seem to recall a machine shop near the airport off RT 611 but the name has slipped
me. As I recall they did a fair amount of pistol work.

BTW I appreciate both suggestions, I guess I will have to flip a coin. It seems being in the central part of the State would have me traveling equal distance to EGW to the east or Gans to the west.

They did start in Doylestown way back when, I seem to remember hearing of them in the 80's but I seem to be suffering from CRS at time lately. Whichever shop you go with I have no doubt that you will get good service.

Guess they are backed up..
Yeah, EGW is completely anal about all the work they do, but thats why they put out such quality work. Everything has to pass through the owner's hands at one point so they do get stacked up.

EGW may take a while, but they'll bend over backward to accomodate you.

I had two problematic Kimbers worked on up there, and George and his crew are top notch.

I wouldn't hesitate to send them more work later on.
