What makes this a better choice than anything else listed so far?

I like the PX4 storm I went to the web site and it looks nice and the material on it sounds good. I am going to go to Dunkelbergers tomarrow and see if they have on in stock to see how it fits in my hand.

Only problem I ever heard about the Px4 storm, is the fact that the trigger seems to absorb some of the recoil, and after 20 to 35 rounds, your finger starts to hurt like hell. And this hangs on for a day or two. Other than that, it's a damn fine gun. One suggestion I heard is to use a shooting glove of some sort. Just something thats gonna cushion your trigger finger when you take it to the range. Good Luck.

Cool Re: New Carry Firearm

Here I go, opening Pandoras box.
Most of my old carrys have become just that. Too valuable to be subjected to holster wear and rattling around in the glove compartment on long trips.
Are you ready for this?
I purchased a S&W 40GVE Sigma.
Yeah. There are better choices, but for price and low maintenance it was pretty hard to beat. With the S&W rebate your talking $250 + you get 2 additional hi-cap magazines.
You can get one in 9mm also if you want to spend all of your $600 and whatever holster you pick can be used for both.
Yeah again. They have a hard trigger pull, but if you have to use it you won't notice it.
Don't forget the S&W lifetime warranty.
Just some food for thought

Well I am going to disappoint most people. I just couldn't find a different style of handgun to carry then the 1911. I tried 10 different guns. I found I do not like the Glock style, it didn't fit in my hand correctly. I also tried the SR9 from Ruger it felt to much much like the Mark III with the weight and the design. So I will save my money untill I can afford the Springfield EMP.

On a side note I picked up a Ruger GP100 with a 6 inch barrel and it came with a Houge grip instead of the grip with the wood insert.

And I only say that because I had a G32 beat its internals to death, which necessitated replacing all the springs, cross pins, and locking block (which actually shattered). I'm not selling my Glocks to buy H&Ks -- I'm just noting my experience. I still prefer Glocks, by far, if for no reason other than easy availability of parts, accessories, and their ease of repair and tweaking.
I almost bought a HK USP compact as my first semi auto...it was ok, I just had never shot one but again, the price was pretty steep and up there where I started when I was originally looking at 1911s. I'm happy with my XD45 compact and the Dan Wesson 1911 my wife gave me for Christmas.

My next handgun will either be a tiny pocket 9mm or a revolver for the woods.
