But you probably just thought I was being a smart ass. As you can see, this wasn't the only "kaboom", as mentioned by others in the thread....and it's the same stupid reason that happens with the "other" kaboom guns. Either way, you can't blame a gun for not doing what it wasn't designed to do.
"My hand (and pride) is a little hurt because of this, however, this could have been much worse. I am very thankful that I bought this gun over a Glock 30 due to the shape the barrel was in, and the fact that I still have my hand.

I will be calling Springfield on Monday and will see how I can be taken care of regarding this. I am assuming since it was a reload, and obviously our fault,"
-from your link
this load would have blown up any gun it was in. And the other "kabooms" where reload problems too. Not the gun. If you have a squib. as one of the posters did, and dont check the barel, you risk having the bullet lodged in there when you fire the next round and,.. well...... BOOM. Glock, Sig, AR, whatever.

At first, no I didn't think you were being a smart ass. But now, maybe. JK!!!

Anyway, I read about that so called KABOOM, as I am a member of XDTALK.com. Funny you don't mention the reason... reloads. Why blame the gun for the negligence of the person doing the reloading? This is like saying your <insert brand name of favorite automobile manufacturer> truck is junk because the tire went flat!!! Not really the trucks fault huh?

Not to throw more fuel onto the fire, but I also own a XD9SC. Has almost 1000 rounds trouble free (since June '07). Didn't even clean it before I shot the first 350 rounds.

I honestly thought there was a real KABOOM of an XD that happened using FACTORY loaded ammo that you were citing. Guess I was wrong.

I see a reoccurring theme within the XD thread....

Here, I'll quote myself in case you missed it

Firearms are not designed to fire a round with a bullet lodged in the barrel (read: squib). That is the shooter's fault, not the gun. I don't care what gun it is, ANY gun (yes, even the venerable GLOCK) will KABOOM with a squib.

You did read the thread, and you already replied. I agree to both. Using a bullet in which a gun is not designed to use, or being a moron will result in failure.......eventually. It's true to pretty much everything. No arguments there.

So now that I posted up the proof that an XD kaboom exists, am I free to leave class now?
