It's better than throwing rocks.

Actually, I believe the stats still support the fact that more people are killed with .22's and .25's than any other caliber.

Still wouldn't be my first choice.

I handled one....horrible trigger....I mean really bad. I put it back and moved on. Also had a Walther P-22, jammed on anything I fed it (6 flavors of ammo) right out of the box. After 200 rounds of the same I sent back for warranty service, upon receipt I sold it. Your results may vary.

Yeah, I've had one for about 4 months now. Looks great, feels great, won't go three rounds without a FTF or FTE. Tried more than half a dozen different ammo types, both supplied recoil springs, no joy. Had to send it back to Sig once when the safety lever fell out of the slide. The connecting shaft between the two levers broke in half, Sig said that there was a 'flaw' in the metal. For $400+ I expected better.
It's for sale, I'll make you a GOOD deal... ;-)

I read that also, but the story went on to say possibly because people did not worry as much about leaving the .22 out with people around as they did with other guns.

ive heard these have alot of feed problems. I have never shot a mosquito, but everything i heard about people lubing the ammo and that solved the problem. Made me choose to get a smith and wesson 22a It eats everything.

Although when the sig mosquito came out they had alot more problems than they do now. People sent them back to sig and they sent the customers new guns and gave them a choice of finish they wanted. one guy got a upgrade to the two tone finish free of charge.

but anyway they say to lube your ammo to help feeding in the mosquito. I say for as much $$$ that it is. That pistol should fire ammo unlubed!!! just go read about this pistol on the sig forum.

peace

Like any other -- you'll get pro & con. I own a 'Mosquito'. Is it Sig 229 Quality? No. But, I don't think it was built to be "To Hell And Back Reliability"! I do find it accurate and inexpensive to shoot. Also, an easy transition from the 'Mosquito' to my '229'. So, cheap, cheap practice at $5.27 per 100 from Wal*Mart. My 'Mosquito' is "ammo senitive" and I had to shoot many brands before settling on the "CCI MiniMags" They will feed and fire, all day long!

Whatever you do -- Good Luck! Have Fun! and -- Stay Safe !!

I have a Sig Mosquito that I bought about five months ago. It shoots great as long as I use hi-velocity ammo.

I have one I would have to agree that a ruger MKII is a little nice in performance but mine has not had any real probles and I cant say I would have got a ruger if I had to do it over. the Mosquito will jam from time to time but so dose my brothers ruger. I dont oil the ammo and it works fine. I would say if thats what you think you want go for it its a 22!

Purchased mosquito couple of weeks ago and just got back from the range about an hour ago. Very accurate with accompanying red dot sight. First rounds were in the black at 50 feet. Consistent 2-3 inch groups after fine tuning scope. No malfunctions with several ammo brands.
You only get one mag with it, but you can find good deal on additional mags at topgunsupply.com
