Default Looking for Attorney in LTCF revocation hearing

The Philadelphia Police has informed me that they are revoking my LTCF stating I was not truthfull about my arrest history.

I have been arrested only once when in college for drug possesion and DUI. The charges were all MERGED and DISMISSED. I plead guilty to DUI in NJ only. (not criminal in NJ. comes under motor vehicle code only.)

During my background investigation a detective from the gun permit unit phoned my house to clarify my explanation for the arrest in NJ. I faxed her a copy of my certified docket transcript indicating that all the charges were merged and dismissed with the exception of the DUI.

Now after issuing my permit (3 months later) I have received a certified letter from the Philadelphia Police revoking my permit stating I was not truthful about my arrest history. I would have though cooperating with the detective and faxing the court disposition was being very truthful.

Will the revocation be "forever"? Could I reapply at a latter date?

I intend to appeal this revocation.

Does it go to my benefit that a Pro Se petition for expungment of this arrest will be signed by a judge of the Superior Court of NJ on August 30, 2007.

Should I retain an Attorney for this appeal? Can anyone refer one.

Regards,

Greg

I will send an email to a lawyer I know to see if he's taking cases in Philadelphia and get back to you.

Ok, the guy I know isn't taking cases in Philadelphia at the moment as it is not economically viable for him to travel that far, but he recommended this man:

Jon S. Mirowitz
161 E Duncannon Street
Philadelphia, PA 19120-3511
Phone: (215) 324-0603

I hope this helps.

Philadelphia routinely does stuff like this. You will have to take this to court, as the appeals board has been stocked with Street's cronies who will uphold any license denied by the city police.

You can fight this with a lawyer, and you will have my unending gratitude if you choose to do so, but for you personally, a Florida license is a lot cheaper than a lawyer, and is the option for many in Philadelphia who are unfairly and possibly illegally denied LTCFs by the Philadelphia Police. It is recognized fully by PA, even if held by a PA resident.

As always, you should talk to a lawyer, but if FL hasn't revoked, you should be able to carry on that. FL won't revoke unless you get busted for one of the enumerated offenses on their list. It could affect NH, as they require you to have a home permit as well. Don't know about Maine.
