Sure thing! The best investment I ever made: Ciener Conversion Kit

He has a version for the AR15 and the M16 (the only difference being the M16 version has a lead weight to prevent bolt bounce and comes with a sear trip)

They run about $200 but they'll pay for themself within a few trips to the range. .22lr out of the AR15/M16 platform is really quite fun to shoot as there it little to no recoil. Even on full-auto I can dump a mag into something the size of a quarter with enough practice at 20-30 feet.

If you buy one though DO NOT buy it directly from that website, the guy who makes them (John Ciener) is notoriously terrible about customer service and in some cases just doesn't or forgets to ship orders out from what I've heard. If you can find a dealer or another websites that re-sells his kits even if they cost a little more.

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm, I've actually considered a .22 conversion for my Colt AR-15 but somewhere I read or heard that there is a issue shooting .22 in a .223 barrel and its best to get a complete .22 upper. Any thoughts on if this is true? I wish I could remember what the negative issue was. Seem to think it has something to do with the smaller .22 hitting the inside of the barrel.....?

I've never had an issue with it, I constantly go back and forth between .22 and .223 in my normal .223 barrel. If it's ever an issue I'll just buy a new one. For me, I go to the range twice a week and take the subway so carrying an extra upper along wouldn't be fun.

Now there's a picture...riding the subway with an M-16...remembering my college days at Temple, that's not a bad idea at some stops.
