Hello.
I have a question about HB1943 from 1999 . What does Referred to Committee on Judiciary mean? Does it mean that the bill passed? If not, since many of the amendments are current law, what similar bill did pass? Lastly, I am most interested in Section 2 which declares, "On the effective date of this section, the Pennsylvania State Police shall expunge all records of involuntary treatment or commitment pursuant to section 302 of the act of July 9, 1976 (P.L.817, No.143), known as the Mental Health Procedures Act." Does this mean that a § 7302 commitment from 1998 should be expunged? Thanks. ![]() |

Thanks to all who read this thread. I have figured out the answers to my own questions.
The bill was intended to remove the prohibitions placed on persons committed under Section 302. It did not pass. ![]() |
