Default TRADING GUNS IN PA.

hey! people, question here..my wife bought a firearm in 2003 from north Carolina.just a few weeks ago she gave it to me to have,i then took it to my local gun shop and traded it along with some money for a new firearm.i filled out some paper work and the shop owner then gave me my receipt for the new firearm that i purchased but the receipt never mentioned nothing about the trade.i was wondering should i have gotten some document saying that I'm no longer the owner of that firearm in case it ever got stolen or used in a crime??
