Other than that, excellent letter.
I do believe that Greg added that last sentence.

Guilty as charged.

Henry, I must say that I appreciate very much your education on these minor points. I generally think I do a pretty go job composing, but do get annoyed when others make such simple mistakes. As such, I'm happy to be corrected when necessary. I think it's especially important when undertaking efforts like these to be perfect in our approach. Some of the responses I've seen from various police and local government officials make me shudder. I think it speaks volumes about their professionalism (and perhaps even their level of education).

Like Greg, I too AM anal about spelling and punctuation. I'll run any further letters by you as well.

I found it, but I'm not telling.

Yes, when writing to our government officials, and also newspapers, we must be extra careful on spelling, punctuation and grammar. The littlest mistake and the anti people will immediately focus on that and write us off as backwoods gun nuts.

Dauphin County Park Rules.

Rule #14, as part of County Ordinance #2-95:
Quote:
14. No person shall carry a knife upon their person having a blade of 3 inches or longer in length, or have possession of, or discharge a BB gun, air rifle, pistol, firearm, bow and arrow, or any other type of lethal weapon in any park, except on facilities expressly designate or provided for that purpose.

Longs Park (In Lancaster, Pa) doesn't have their rules posted online. I have called and asked them over the phone though (not specifically about firearms as I didn't want them leaving out anything "good") and the lady went right down the list of rules and read it off to me. It's posted there at the park that "you aren't allowed to have firearms" there. I know I posted about this previously but I didn't know there was a specific thread for this sort of thing specifically. I am not aware of anyone being cited for breaking the rule at this time either.

I'd still be thinking ahead about the situation and prevent any encounters before they arise...what I did was went to the borough's office that had an illegal park sign and requested that a specific ordinance be printed because the sign listed 1...you could probably just ask for a copy of the park rules...bring some change because they'll probably charge you.
