Question Opinions? LaserMax LMS UNI

Looking for opinions. Considering purchasing the LaserMax LMS UNI
http://www.lasermax.com/product.php?id=104

Reasons for purchase include:

1. Training tool
2. Intimidation factor for carry weapon, if the laser heightens their fears. I'm all for it. I'd rather not have to clean up the mess. ;-)

I've been looking for a laser, too. I checked online for some reviews for you, and found some onilne, all (x4) of which seem very positive, and they all state that it was aligned very well right out of the box.

Red's are about $180 or so, green is just over $300. Now, my only question is....red or green!

I never used one, but it's on my list if I ever have extra money. I read alot about these.

I have heard nothing but good things about them. Lasermax guide rods take alot of abuse, so I would think these would be no different.

If you have the dough I'd get the green. It's easier for the eye to pick up, even in broad daylight. Everything I have read has said green lasers are brighter, and easier for the eyes to see. But more $$$

The internal Laser Max's are great, if you have a pistol for which one is made. I've used one for years and love it. Otherwise, for a rail mount green is the way to go - brighter, easier to see in daylight.

One thing of note....

I read some points on the negatives of green.

1. While extremely bright, their laser beam also tends to be more identifiable
2. They eat thru batteries much faster, (ie: 1/2-1 hr for green versus 3 hrs for similar red).
3. They may be more susceptible to misalignment.

So while I wanted the green, hey I love green. I've decided it's not worth 2x+ the price for more disadvantages.

I have the LaserMax laser you show in the link on my PX4 storm .45. It is a good solid laser, holds zero and has a pulsating mode which is the mode I use. I may get another for my AK or one of my shotguns.

Thanks for the feedback. And I'm looking at the red too.

Can't afford the green, besides, I hear it gobbles up batteries several times faster than the red.
