Does anyone know where I can find an AK optics mount that covers the dust cover? There's a nice looking one on the maini page of this site: http://www.redstararms.com/ I couldn't find the optics mount on that site though! It's not the crappy kind that's part of the dust cover, but rather the kidn that goes over the dust cover. I saw a guy use one for a Galil once. I want to put one of the Kobra red dots on the rifle. None of my AK clones have the side mount. I have a Yugo RPK, a Yugo underfolder, and two Romy G's.

That looks kind of like the NEW DPH rail. Krebs and rockermounts make a similar one.
I have a similar thing on my WASR

I not sure this is the type of mount you are looking for. This mount does not effect your zero when you tack the top cover off as it is not installed on the top cover. They are very solid mount. A buddy of mine has one on his SKS and I liked so much that I plan to get one for my AK. Check out this link http://www.scoutscopes.com/
