Default Recommend me a BUIS

I removed the carry handle from my RRA Entry Tactical so that I could co-witness my Aimpoint Comp M4 with the iron sights, so now I need a rear BUIS (preferably flip up), and I'm not sure which to go with.

I've got a YHM flip up rear, I like it. Can't remember the model number offhand, but I can look when I get home if you want.

Having tried the YHM, and the Knights, and the GG&G MAD, and 2 others, i settled on the USGI BUIS made by MATech.

you can find these around on arfcom and other sites if ya do a good search.

they usually sell for $75-125 range, i'm super happy with mine.

I have them on everything I use a BUIS on, from my SBR, to my Jolly roger AR, to my M16, to my long range accuracy gun.

its a nice BUIS, with clear and hard ranging detents( with 50m intervals past 300), and the main sight ring is the fine diameter.

here it is on a gun...

That's nice, I like that. How would that work for a range surveyed in yards, though?

learn to shoot in meters, its the current measurement for shooting by the military.

The Yard is an Imperial unit of length equal to 91.44 centimeters or 3 feet.

so add about 3.8" per meter, or every 10 meters add about 38" distance (round to a yard)

the US is slowly going metric, get with the program

Eh, measurement conversions make my head hurt

Tell the people that run the range I shoot at to get with the program, lol. I'm all for shooting in meters. It would make things a hell of a lot easier since everything seems to be designed for military use, except the ranges we shoot at.

Troy Industries makes a very good BUIS. I've used the GG&G MAD and it works well too.
