Don't take that to mean I am insulting anyone's marksmanship abilities, that is certainly not my goal. However, the better one is at fundamental marksmanship, the better they will be in advanced marksmanship.
I'd agree with that, but most everyone shoots better with an optic. Which is why the armed forces are using them.

And the dot can teach you things.....like to hold a focal plane without as many variables...especially if you vision isn't what it used to be.

I'm pretty good with irons...but a decent shooter with an optic and a comp make me work, very , very hard.

A guy on Glocktalk (Glock281) was selling knockoffs of Aimpoint, EOTech and ACOG sights a year or so ago . I don't know if he still does or not.
If you want his Email, PM me. i have it somewhere.

At $60 ea, I bought 2 aimpoint clones(same price for the EOTech clones). They don't have the extended battery life of a real Aimpoint nor do they have as many brightness settings. They have 2 red and 2 green dot settings.

They come with a mount. I use it but don't know how it will fare in the long run.

I will eventually get a real aimpoint.

I get what i pay for as does everyone.
