Default Which scope and which rifle out of these two to choose for deer?

Never hunted deer before and need your input regarding a scope. I hunted wild pigs in the other part of the world, but this was back in my ''previous life" and with iron sights only. I already have two scopes, both sit in boxes. One is Pentax Lighseeker 3.5-10/50, and the other is Trijicon with fixed 4x magnification. I am thinking trijicon would be better for scouting because it is so lightweight and has a low profile, but would be 4x mag be enough? The rifle that I am thinking to take on deer hunt is either sporter Swede in 6.5x55mm, 23" barrel or 7x57 carbine shorty with 18.5" barrel. Both are great shooters, but Swede is amazingly flat with (129gr. hornady/48gr. rl19). The chileano is very easy to carry in brush, on the other hand, and I had very nice results with 175gr round noses. Oh, I also have K31 already scoped with vintage 4x redfield, but it has original stock and I feel reluctant to take on hunt. So please give me your inputs. Thank you all of you!

Well, in Allegheny co, you are limited to shotgun only......

Otherwise, either scope will work fine in the brush and out to about 150 yards. Beyond that and the variable will start to shine.

If you're hunting in heavy brush I would put the Trijicon on the 7X57. If very open country the Pentex on the 6.5X55.
