I like NovaTac 85. One battery 85 lumens fits in my pocket 4 programmable settings, including strobe. Decent battery life. Aircraft aluminum housing can be used in a closed fist as a striking tool.

I use a surefire light. The one that I carry with me is called the E1B Backup. It is a one cell flashlight that is small enough to carry in a shirt pocket.
What ever light you decide on, make sure it is a LED version. They are almost indestructible, put out an amazing amount of light and last a lot longer than the conventional bulbs. Another point is, I favor the CR123A battery lights over the double A battery powered ones. The CR123As are more expensive but their shelf life is triple of that of the double A. http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/...4511/sesent/00 I bought mine at www.batteryjunction.com., they give you eight batteries included in the price of the light. http://www.batteryjunction.com/surefire-e1b-backup.html Good luck on your shopping. |

Truthfully, I have a 3 surefires(E2E, and 2 E2D) and they are really over priced.... The light i like the most is this guy made by a company called Nuwai. Excellent quality and very well made, just google the model and read some reviews on it and they are all good. The light output on this guy dwarfs my surefires. Plus its cheap enough that its you really mess it up you can just buy another one. Personally flashlights are overpriced alot fo them it all about the bulb inside that determines the light quality and output power, and its efficiency. Im a big fan of anything with a Luxeon III or better bulb, if you can find a light with the new Luxeon Rebel bulb light go for it also.

Take a look at the new Fenix TK10...it's getting rave reviews.
The Surefire 6P LED is also another light I'd consider. Personally, I carry Streamlights because I work for the company. If you are talking EDC...I"d go with a rechargable light. Those CR123A batteries are expensive and if you use the light a lot...a recharge will save you money in the long run. Go with LED's over incadescent lights because LED's use less energy which means longer runtime. Another pro for the LED is that it does not generate as much heat as the incadescents bulbs. For my EDC, I carry the Streamlight Super Tac...it's ugly as sin, but it throws a beam damn far. I put it up against my Ultra Stinger and can say that I have no problems with carrying the Super Tac. The ST uses 123 batteries, but it gives you 2.5 hours of usable light...3.5 hours total light.
