Default my son's best ten

My son and I went to the range yesterday for some fun. It also gave us a chance to talk about what's going on in his life and mine..another chance to enhance an already great relationship. Below is his best ten rounds using a cx4 at 30 yards.

Nice going. Can your son teach me to shoot that well?

I'll tell him you said that, Jim. With a pistol, he can't hit the broad side of a barn if he was standing inside of it but the rifle seems to agree with him.

Galactic, I'm not sure he could explain his method. He just seems to come by it naturally.

I'm sure with some practice he'll be able to master the pistol too. The pistol was tough for me at first but I learned trigger pull and proper grip, now I'm very confident I can hit what I'm aiming at. Tell him not to get discouraged.

Nice group at 30 yards. What sights and position did he use?

I love my CX4. Its fun to shoot and more accurate than I am.

I’ve tried a few different sights on my CX4.

First, the iron sights were Balls On from the factory.

I have a BSA Red Dot on and like it very much. And, it co-witnesses the iron sights. At 25 yards off hand it’s easier to get 2” groups with faster follow-up shots. At 50 yards the dot is very sharp and about 4 MOA, with a bipod 3” groups are my limit.

He was shooting from a seated position. As you can see from the picture, the rifle has a bushnell scope mounted on it. Both of us really like this little carbine. It's a hoot to shoot and we have a lot of fun with it.

Nice… What riser is he using?

I have a 3-9X40 I’d like to mount on mine but even with the tallest mounts it won’t clear the front and rear sight turrets.

I can't tell you which mount was used. The sales guy at the range set it up for me when I bought the scope. I checked for markings on the riser but no dice. There's maybe 2 milimeters of clearence between the eye piece and the top of the rear turret. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
