Default sig mosquito and tac 65

I've been pondering what gun to get myself for my 21st birthday (9 days away) and finally settled on a sig mosquito because i need a 22 pistol for practice and the mosquito is just cool as hell. and what pistol would be complete without a suppressor so i decided on the tac 65. and i can use it on my rifles. (tree rats are going to die this year.) Tuesday i sent out the check for the tac 65 and the dealer called yesterday saying the forum 4 went out in the mail so hopefully i will get it today so i can get it signed and out with todays mail. the mosquito i have on order at a local gun shop. he promised me it would be here by the 25th. guess that is one more stop on the list for that day.

I'm really interested in how this turns out. I own a Tac-65 and it's a great suppressor. A real bear to clean, so make sure you buy two of the 6-point endcap driver tools.

You'll also need a thread adaptor to change the Mosquito threads to 1/2X28.

I know that Tac-65 is a good suppressor. I want to see how the Mosquito handles after the break-in period.

Keep in mind with the Mosquito that it only likes CCI mini-mags. I've seen a few of them jam with cheap ammo. It may be a non-issue with you, but I thought i'd let you know.

Whe were shopping for a .22 for my mom and it was between the mosquito, and walther p22. We got the walther and wa shooting next to a guy with a mosqutio that was jamming with bulk ammo. I gave him a handfull of mini-mags and got the rest of his bulk ammo which the walther ate just fine.

It may not matter to you because you're going to supress it and let's face it, a supressed mosquito is badass. If I were getting a supressed .22 it would probably be the mosquito and i'd happily fork over $6 a box for ammo.

Good luck man, that's gonna be a blast to shoot.

idpa: congrats on your purchases, I think you will be happy in the end. My suppressed Mosquito comes with me to the range every time I go , I love shooting it.

Saying that the mosquito ONLY likes CCI mini-mags is a little bit of a broad statement. Brand spankin' new my sig was definitely picky on ammo but after a break-in it started to loosen up. The suppressor will definitely help as well. Your mosquito should come with 2 springs as well, you can experiment.

Mine now gobbles up CCI, Remington, and even Aguila subsonics (with an occasional FTF). The mosquito WILL start jamming when it's dirty. The suppressor will definitely help speed that along as well.

I have a Walther P-22 as well, that thing will shoot anything you feed it without skipping a beat.

You're gonna be a happy man in a couple of months ... reinforce your basement walls while you are waiting

Here's a pic of my setup:

Since I allready own a walther, I personally went with the SIG factory conversion for the P226.

Though I will admit $1050 (or in my case $715) for a 22rf pistol is NUTS

so i bought the mosquito on Sunday. I've had it out 3 times now with a total of about 300-350 rounds through it. i took it out right after i bought it and shot some federal value pack through it. it ran pretty well with the occasional jam and a few ftf. i tried some winchester ammo and it acted about the same. i tried some federal American eagle about every other round was a stove pipe or other jam. it came with a mail in rebate for 10 dollars off 4 boxes of mini mags. Monday i went to wallmart and picked up 4 boxes and it seemed they did not make it run any better. turns out my thumb was pushing up on the slide release and locking the slide open. so now that I'm more aware of that it runs really well even on federal value pack ammo. now all i have to do is wait for my forum 4 to come back then i can have some real fun.
