My 2 cents;

Did he say why he wanted to suppress a .308? That one will only up the price of the rifle by $775.00 (cost plus $200 tax stamp) plus shipping, sales tax, cost of gunsmithing to turn the barrel to accept the suppressor, etc. And then will the CLEO in his area sign off on the paperwork, etc.

Not to put a damper on the project, suppressors are cool, but a lot to think about. It should not be a spur of the moment decision.

If going to hunt with it I don't know if the PGC has said anything about using suppressors on hunting guns. I have not done any research on that yet (I will though).

just my .02

Does he need a reason? I dont think so.

As far as it upping the cost of the rifle, well I have a $1K suppressor on a $500 Glock. Is it worth it IMHO yes.

And finally it is legal to Hunt in PA with a suppressor

As to the OP's question, I have never seen review and dont know anyone who has any can made by that maker.

If I was in the market for a thread on 308 can I would look to the SWR Omega. Matt and Henry are great people to do business with

I have fired the SAS 556 can and have a 308 can waiting on a form 4 now. When it comes in the customer and I will be taking it for a test drive. If it is as good as the 556 can; they are good cans for the price. The Omega is a great can but for the price you cant beat the SAS. Go to the web site he has video of his cans in action. By the way when I fired the SAS 556 can it was put up against the SS MITE and M-4 1000. I placed it first in sound then the mite. the only thing I didnt like about it was the so-called Fast attache hider mount. I didnt care for it but he is working on another type of hider mount. If your friend would like to see or hear the can give me a call 717-644-3966 I am a dealer in Lebanon, PA

If that is your attitude toward suppressors, perhaps you should stay out of the NFA forum. I am sure you think that civilian ownership of registered machineguns is ridiculous too. Great attitude for an NRA member.

In truth, .308 suppressors do NOT "only up the price of the rifle." They substantially reduce felt recoil and sound signature. I know this because I actually own one (SWR Omega-30). And I paid less than $775 for it.

SAS cans have a very good reputation on snipershide.com, though I have never examined or heard one in use. I prefer SWR, because they have excellent customer service. Another option would be AAC, but you might end up paying more. The SWR Omega-30 and the AAC Cyclone are both good cans.

Comments from someone who clearly isn't familiar with the person he's criticizing.

Asking some questions for clarification and noting some very real concerns (LEO signoff) hardly constitutes an "Anti-NFA" stance.

I don't care who I am criticizing- his attitude sucks, no matter what his credentials are. And, more importantly, he made absolutely no attempt to answer the question that was asked; rather, he sought to dissuade the individual from purchasing a suppressor by insinuating that obtaining an LEO signoff is a large hurdle, which is not the case, because the signoff requirement can be easily circumvented. Please note that I was not the only board member who was bothered by his reply.

No wonder I don't visit/post here very often. No need to ban me, I promise I won't be back. Have a nice day.

I must have missed something here, because it LOOKS like Guy #1 asked a question, Guy #2 stated a few potential concerns, you attacked Guy#2 for not chanting in unison, Guy #3 pointed out why you were mistaken, and you then went immediately to "panties in a wad" mode.

Did I miss something?
