Default Gemtech .40 Blackside 'L.I.D' mounting system?

If you look on Gemtech's webpage it says that the .40 Blackside uses a 'L.I.D. (recoil booster)' mounting system.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Apparently its like a reduction to the end of the suppressor or something?
I just want to know if it is going to effect the suppression of the sound. Thanks.

It's not a "reduction to the end of the suppressor or something"

It's just their name for a booster. (all browning tilting barrel actions require them, I dont care what gemtech says about the 45acp)

booster, lid, lcd, asps, nielson device.. all the same thing w/ different names

I don't know about the Gemtech cans. I have heard quite a few reviews on another site that they cause cycling problems on quite a few different pistols because of the booster system they use. I would recommend looking at the AAC Evo 40 can personally as it has great reviews all around from what I have read. I cannot comment on either of them personally but I can say that my AAC Evo 9 works perfectly.

which for the 45acp Blackside is no booster at all (they recently started selling one as a add on, but they still "claim" its not needed)

You may be correct.....it may have been the .45 model I'm thinking of. But I do stand by the reputation of the AAC cans. Top of the line in my book!

For the AAC Evo 40? That seems way high. I would suggest talking to another dealer. It's been a little bit but I think I only paid between $500 and $600 for my Evo 9.

Yea I just called the NFA dealer out here and his catalog says 840 recommeded dealer price. He recommended the blackside mounting system as its for a Glock. Time to start saving

I would really recommend talking to another dealer. I have yet to pay MSRP for a suppressor or even a firearm from my dealer.(although I am a good customer)

It doesn't hurt to price shop when looking at NFA items.
