Default Re: 2008 NFA time lines

I'm doing a corp. About 5 weeks since they received it and not even in the system yet. They keep telling me they are running 6 weeks to get into the system, or get to the other location or something(? I forget), basically nobody sees it for 6 weeks. My examiner knows it's coming, and she called my dealer a couple weeks ago because she was concerned she had not seen it - asked me to verify check was cashed.

PICS does not need to scan your prints, and run them thru a database check.
The time quopted to me from the Supervisor at the NFA branch said due to backlog, the avg return time on the prints check is 18-30 days.

I am doing a corp. No fingerprints to check. 5 weeks after check cashed, not even in the system yet. But I expect to be in the system in the next week or two based on what they told me and Stack's experience.

Well I use a trust so I get to bypass all that stuff.

I had my prints run for a possible teaching job and got the results back in a little over two weeks last year.

I have to wonder why they do the print thing for NFA. I can buy a hundred handguns and rifles without prints.......

I bet it is just another excuse to get your prints on record.

i sent my form 1 in somewhere around the first of febuary the check was cashed on 2/6/08. they called yesterday to ask a question about my form, i told her i knew about the error and i will fix it when i get it back. she said back that she would send it out that day and it would only be a matter of a few days to get it approved when it returns to her.
