I checked a status last week and they told me they are not even supposed to say the timeframe anymore. Which is a change from only a month or two ago - if they were being serious. They told me they are increasingly swamped and things are slowing to a crawl.

interesting. One of the customer reps Anton Wood is very helpful and the supervisor Mr. Howard went out of his way to locate my lost form 4.
They both said that things are slowing down due to heavy volume. I anticipate transfers closer to the elections taking several months. I need an SWR Spectre suppressor any idea who in Pa might have one in stock?

Form 4 cleared in less than 2 months this time ... arrived at dealer on 6/16 but I was away. Not bad.. same on F1 minus the Sheriff forgetting to date it so I should have that back next week as well.
Seneca: check your PMs

Form 1 sent 06/06
Arrived in Martinsburg 06/09 Check cashed 06/17 Does the check being cashed mean anything? Do they automatically do that when they arrive, or does that mean that they have started processing the paperwork? Also, when do you suggest to call for status, if at all?

They automatically cash it ... I think back in the day it meant something but now it's just a formality.
If you are going to call I'd wait a minimum of 4 weeks but 6 would be a better move. I usually only call once if at all. Hope this helps

Good advice, I'll wait the 6 weeks. It's always good to hear from someone outside the event thinking clearly. I'm driving myself nuts thinking about when I'll be able to put this thing together and shoot it.

I know man, I know... came back from vacation and my F1 was in the mailbox , returned because the Sheriff forgot to date the forms. Good news is my F4 came back approved. Just got done cleaning my new addition.

More Form 4s approved. Transfer to an LLC, second round of transfers for the LLC. Time from date of receipt by ATF to date of approval was exactly 6 weeks.
