Default Glock Auto Sear - unfinished on gunbroker

I guess it is just a piece of metal until you do something with it but this seems pretty shady to me. I wouldn't think anyone could legally make this part, unless it was for LE/Military, and why would they do it this way?

http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=88968073

Description...
Quote:
This is a 50% Full Auto sear for Glock Pistols You get the replacement cap that fits all models Glocks and the instruction sheet..The cap in it's Present configuration can be used in Glock pistols with-out qualifying as a NFA weapon ANY modifications to the piece SHOULD NOT be attempted by anyone other than a Class 2 Manufacture any attempt to Manufacture this piece by anyone other than a C2 Manufacturer constitutes a felony of manufacturing a Machine Gun... THIS GLOCK SEAR IS BEING SOLD FOR EDCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND CAN BE LEGALLY OWNED BY ANYONE IN IT'S PRESENT CONFIGURATION
I seem to remember something to make a Glock FA being sold as an NFA item at the Hburg gun show, but I could be wrong. I think it had a part that stuck out the back cover. Other than a pre-86 G18 (if there were any) or dealer samples is there any other way to have a legal FA Glock? Edit - I see from the search there is no way.

any 07/SOT could buy and finish it.

There are unfinished post sample parts that are purchased by 07's that are't very good at building things. (I realize that sounds odd but it's true)

Do you think there would there be a LE/Military market for it? If not, for what reason would they make it?

Actually they don't need to have a reason at all to own/build it. As a 07/SOT they can build whatever they want to for whatever reason they decide, though most will say it's for R&D.

Also (not this particular style of conversion since it's not select fire) some LEO's have G18's or converted G17's as their duty weapons.

Shady? Matter of perspective I guess.

You can buy sawz-all blades at home depot. They can be made into a lightning link in about 5 minutes.

Is Home Depot "shady" too?

WHat about a demilled AK kit? it can be made into a MG. But that's the responsibility of the builder, not the seller of the parts kit.

Just food for thought. Obviously Home Depot is not advocating breaking the (unconstitutional) MG laws, but neither is the seller of the Glock part.
There are legal routes for these parts to be finished. They could also be stuck away for the day they are legal again... Point being, they are as legal as you make them to be. Let's not attack the seller for breaking no law. $.02
