Mob Loots East Liberty Gas Station Wednesday, July 16, 2008 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette A group of people looted a Sunoco gas station in East Liberty during a Monday night power outage, smashing windows and stealing food, Pittsburgh police Lt. Dan Herrmann said yesterday. A clerk at the store on North Negley Avenue told police that there were up to 30 people in the pack, some as young as 8 years old. No arrests have been made, Lt. Herrmann said. Stolen items included food and a small amount of cash. "The bad guys took advantage of the fact that all the lights were out," he said.
