The conviction is 13 tears old. If he has been clean all this time then he deserves to have his rights back. I wonder what happened to cause his home to be searched and the guns found in the first place.

All the antis need to do is get every minor infraction they've ever imagined reclassified in the laws as some type of minor "felony" and nobody will have the right to own a gun. It would not be hard. Just get enough gun hating legislators to create felony classifications F1 through F187 or whatever. You get the idea.

I think we should keep a close eye on this case. There are already far too many relatively minor violations of various foolish prohibitions classified as "felonies." The standard should not just be "felony."

I hope they rule against him. IMHO convicted Felons should not have guns. Call me crazy but I wouldn't want armed convicted felons living in my neighborhood.

If the only felonies were murder, kidnapping, treason, rape, aggravated assault, et cetra, I'd agree with you. However, if you look at the broad range of what now qualifies as a felony, it's my opinion that a felony conviction cannot be used as a indicator of future violence. I also believe that if the felon is still considered a threat to society, then his sentence was too short.

I'll bet you already have armed convicted felons living in your neighborhood and don't even know it.

I was always taught that once you did your time for an offence your rights were returned ( I must be old).

Though it doesn't seem like the minority does it.
