A few hits for "Justin Jackson" in the western part of the state. Wonder if any are him?

Well it seems that most of these dopey ghetto types have serious detestation for most cops. Maybe it's about time we remove the police from these really bad neighborhoods and let these fools fend for themselves.

The parent failed to mention that the POS was an aspiring rap artist on the verge of earning millions of dollars.
That seems to be trend, to extort more money out of the system. No doubt the family will receive a cash settlement instead of a bill for the dog, ammo spent and disposal of the bodies. |

The policeman did the absolute right thing here. My brother is a canine cop in Florida and his dog is considered an officer of the law. If a bad guy shoots at the dog it's the same as shooting at an officer. I personally do not think it matters whether the LEO thought the BG might turn his gun and shoot at him as well. He was justified in protecting his "partner" and himself.

You folks do realize this all precipitated simply from 'a guy with a gun', right?
Does someone have information that this guy was wanted for crimes, or do we just suspect he was 'about to commit a crime'? What's the missing piece? Am I misunderstanding what the news is trying to portray by mentions such as 'his hands which were already underneath his shirt and jacket'? |

Pex. That was my initial thought given the frustration of people on here about being hounded about concealed carry and/or open carry.. BUT, it sounds like the guy who got shot pulled the gun out in his hand when the police requested he pull his hands out of his shirt. If not, I don't understand releasing the K-9. But, once the guy starts spraying lead, it have no problem with the police taking him down. Execution style my ass.. I guess dad wanted them to just wing him, huh? I am troubled as to what to feel about the family.. Obviously I can understand their sadness mixed with anger and frustration about the situation. They just lost a 19 year old kid.. I don't like the sentiments that I see too often (for my tastes) showing no sympathy toward the family.. The reality is that even if a kid makes stupid decisions it doesn't always mean the family was at fault. My parents fought like hell to keep me on the straight and narrow, and pushing me to achieve my potential. Doesn't mean I didn't make plenty of mistakes when I was younger. I don't think I was ever involved in crap that would have had me shot. But in my opinion my mistakes and conscious decisions to rebel against my parent's lessons and rules (though knowing I was wrong) should be interpreted as bad parenting. Anyway, I'm off on a tangent.. I would just say I hope deep down some of you do have some compassion for a family who just lost a child, and understand the fact that they are in shock... and will likely now be taken advantage of by the likes of Al Sharpton. |

This one leaves me a bit confused. He was told to show his hands. He did and he had a gun in it. The part I don't see is the officer telling him to drop the gun.
If at the first sight of a gun the officers sic a dog on me the dog is going down. Clear self-defense. If at the first sight of a gun the human officer starts shooting at me with no warning or anything I will return fire. Officer or not you just can not open fire. In this case it looks all too much like the guy did the human reaction of defending himself from an attack. Someone swings at you your arm goes up without thinking. They are not saying where the gun was pointed or if the guy did anything except defend himself from a vicious dog.
