I don't think it would be ruining my life. They are the ones doing something illegal. They wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court. We could probably even get the legislature from Harrisburg on our side. We might even be able to get a lawyer to take the case pro bono if they get the civil case afterwards (percentage)since they will know it will be a slam dunk with big $$$$$$ And lets not forget the NRA who may want in on it. I am a member.......

We may not even need a collection........except for bail....

It sounds more like the info on who gets the apps and who is approved, denied etc is going to be logged somewhere centrally. You know cause they guys who go through the hoops and play by the rules are dying to start capping some people now that they can carry.

I just want to know how the hell they are going to log everytime somebody buys ammo. I don't know about you but some people buy some serious amounts of ammo and I would think there is a good bit sold in Philly. Then what are they going to do, say Wal-Mart calls and says "Joe Smith just bought 500 rounds of 9mm." "Okay we'll send the local PD out to see just what he plans to do with that." It just seems like a waste of time and resources to log how much ammo people buy.

Just my take on this BS

Quote:
Bill No. 080015: Prohibit the possession or acquisition of firearms by persons charged with certain criminal offenses.
Isn't this on the books already or did they add more offenses

Quote:
Bill No. 080016: Acquisition or Transfer of Firearms. To regulate the acquiring or transferring of any firearm within the City of Philadelphia.
That'll stop those bad guys from buying guns on the corner

Quote:
Bill No. 080017: Temporary Removal Of Firearms Of Persons Posing A risk Of Imminent Personal Injury To Self Or Others.
We'll leave that up to the police if you spit on the street your gun can be taken.

Quote:
Bill No. 080018: Prohibited Possession, Sale and Transfer of Firearms by Persons Subject to Protection From Abuse Orders.
Isn't that a law already ???

Quote:
Bill No. 080032: Failure to Report Lost or Stolen Firearm. Requiring prompt notification of lost or stolen firearms and imposing penalties.
Isn't Harrisburg talking about this in the Judaical committee

Quote:
Bill No. 080033: Contraband Weapons, Accessories and Ammunition. Prohibition and registration of certain assault weapons and imposing penalties
Again the BG on the corner is shaking in his boots, Can I not have a scope on my rifle or lasers on my pistol and what Ammo is prohibited

Quote:
Bill No. 080034: Sale or Transfer of Ammunition. Require all sales of ammunition for firearms to be reported to the City of Philadelphia Police Department and to require that Department to maintain a registry of such reports.
something the state and federal government doesn't do. But hey we can raise taxes to pay for it

Quote:
Bill No. 080035: Straw and Multiple Handgun Purchase Reduction. Limit purchases of handguns by Philadelphia residents to one a month, and to prohibit ‘straw purchases’ of handguns utilized by criminals for the purpose of evading the one handgun a month limitation.
Don't you Phila residents go into Delco or outside the city and buy a gun. Oh you can't because of Bill NO. 080034 forgot it must be registered with the Phila PD.

Quote:
Bill No. 080036: Reporting Requirements Upon the Application for or Renewal of a License to Carry a Firearm. Provide for certain reporting requirements for the issuance or renewal of licenses to carry firearms within the City of Philadelphia
Sounds like NYC where even if you have a LTCF you'll have to notify the city your visiting or passing through quickly.

That would be an interesting conversation LOL

Knock Knock
"Hey Joe, why did you buy 500 rounds of ammo?"
"Hey, jackboot, none of your fucking business. Get the hell off of my property."

That one caught my eye too. I say we have a "Let's go to Philly to buy ammo" day. We can meet up somewhere and car pool around the city from store to store and each of us buy 1 box of ammo per store. Heck, if I bought one box for every gun I have I could make a full day of it, and based on some posts I've read Philly doesn't have enough stores for some of you to do that. On second thought, scratch that box per gun idea, it would definitely be giving the Philly PD more info than I want them to have. Anyway, I'd be coming in from Chester County and would gladly pick up anyone on the way, and do the driving around the city too.

To take it one step further, those of us with a LTCF could open carry like DeadHands suggested, just to make it more interesting. I bet a wally world manager would think twice about calling 911 if a couple dozen customers walked in packing sidearms and headed for the sporting goods. Besides, what could they do, send in a swat team to unlawfully disarm all of us? The police would be too busy logging all the ammo purchases to do anything, but everyone could put NBC, ABC and CBS on their cell phone speed dial just in case.

I actually started this post half tongue in cheek, but now that I think of it, I bet a large group of people carrying guns and going from store to store would attract enough attention after hitting the third or fourth store that it would make the evening news (and if it didn't, an anonymous tip with a cell phone video clip might help) and it would be a great opportunity to publicize the committees actions. I'd like to see Harrisburg's reaction if the entire state or even country saw on the evening news that a few members of the Philadelphia city council are blatently saying to hell with the law, we'll do what we want.

Then we can all go to Shakey's house for nachos and beer afterwards!

I have always disliked the City of Philadelphia. High car insurance rates (because low lifes don't have any and just hit and run), high income taxes, plenty of illegals and lots of crime. You know...the kind of place you want to carry a GUN for self defense. Now the city officials(criminals) are breaking state law passing gun laws as they see fit. Vote the losers out of office. Better yet, Move out of the City because it Sucks! They should rename it Philly, New Jersey. Sorry but New Jersey sucks too. As well as CA,MA,CT,NY,MD. Join the NRA, write your state and federal reps and be sure to vote Pro Gun in the up coming elections. We must all stand together and fight for our gun rights or they will slowly take them away. Guns don't kill people, humans do! Ban Bad Humans.
