Since when does desiring to fly on a plane or enter a government building constitute "probable cause" to warrant searching a person?

I guess the fourth amendment is as useless as the rest of the constitution these days.

FOURTH AMENDMENT [U.S. Constitution] - 'The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.'

If you think you have the right not to be offended. I suggest you promptly purchase a toe attachment and a twelve gauge. One time use is all that is necessary.

I'm with Josh on this one. It was always my understanding that probable cause was needed to obtain a search warrant, be it a search of someone's home, place of business, their person, etc.

+1 Josh

I fly over 150K miles per year. Them McD's rejects (TSA) are stupider than stupid. If I put my lighter next to my smokes they will find it. If I put it in a different pocket, I'm good to go.

If the airport or planes were truly private property I would respect the right of the property owner to not allow firearms.
But in my opinion the millions of dollars stolen from the american people to prop up the airlines makes them public property or at the very least we are part owners like stockholders.
There is no question in government buildings. They are public property and we should not be disarmed or subjected to unwarranted search to utilize public property.

Well I'll have to be the odd man out, what's the difference between this and getting wanded by a security guard after going through a metal detector?

If your going into a place that doesn't allow weapons, I don't see what the issue is, now if there was one at the entrance to every mall, I'd be a little upset.

At this rate they might start putting those things in at schools before they end up in the Govt. buildings.

Until they put this technology on sunglasses, where you can go to the mall and other places where pretty women hangout, then I want nothing to do with it.

I do not disagree with the technology, as it is only a tool. What concerns me is the application of this technology. Airport Security=oxymoron. I haven't flown in years. Used to love it. Now it's just a royal PITA. As far as gov buildings and privacy, there AINT NONE. Whether it's posting something here or walking near a business district, does anyone here really believe the illusion of PRIVACY? Even in your own home, you are subject to intrusion by telemarketers, mistaken identity no-knock warrants, emminent domain abuse, and ATF inspection (if you are an FFL holder). Don't even get me started on private property seizures based upon probable cause rather than conviction........

(rambling)

Airlines are dumping their pensions making the gov't take the tab. They give us no rights and restrict things that have no weapon potential.

Is it ever going to happen? I fly 2-3 times a year out of Erie. We have no technology here. We still haven't gotten the "bomb detection" x-ray machine. When I flew back from Austin from Thanksgiving, they didn't have the bomb dection x-ray machine and they are a big city. When they checked my guns they did the same they did at Erie, they took a little patch and wiped stuff down for bomb residue.

We won't pay for this type of technology. I'm sure these things are expensive. At best they will end up having these in 10 airports in the next 10 years.

I would like to see someone walk through the machine with a dildo in their pocket.

I don't understand the things that the TSA comes up with.

1. Put a bomb detection dog at the entrance of the screening section at every airport.
2. Put an Air Marshal on each plane.

Thats all you need to make all airlines safe. Cut the TSA to about 10% of current and the financial balances would even out. (/end rambling)
