I agree with everything but this lame deputies action in filing the charges, quit being a pussy and take it like a man. Was the poor little deputies feelings hurt? I mean seriously.. You stand there and yell at me for whatever, I'm not filing charges against you like I'm a Nancy boy just because you yelled at me... That's childish. Most certainly the deputy could've done it if it was THAT bad right on the spot, but he didn't. He waited days/weeks. Lame-o-matic

Lets see here ....he got his new permit, was unhappy about the expiration date on it which im sorry works out to 84 cents, the cops explained the law to him, he got his old permit back and they refunded his check, BUT instead of leaving and coming back when it expired, HE then got pissed lost his temper whuch he admits to and acted like a jackass Principles? what principles? that he is one of those people who acts like a 10 year old cause they dont get there way,,, come on man the law states 5 years from day of issue! He is lucky to have a sheriff that issues on the spot, noone was pickin on him GEEEZ |

I was thinking about going to the sheriff's office to see if they would issue me another permit because my picture is beginning to fade beyond recognition. But now I'm afraid that they will take my gun permit away from me for appearing vain.

i find it fairly obvious going into a sheriffs office and starting to yell at people for doing their job is gonna result in a disorderly.. and no, the sheriff is not a little girl because of it.. the only one in the wrong is the guy freaking out over less than a dollar!

Consider the deputies point of view. This guy reacts in an irrational and compulsive manner right in front of you, his reaction to the situation is out of proportion to the perceived wrong that was committed.
I agree we shouldn't need a permit to carry a gun, if you can legally buy one you should be able to carry it however you want. However, this isn't up to the deputy, the Sheriff's dept. "shall investigate whether the applicant's character and reputation are such that the applicant will not be likely to act in a manner dangerous to public safety", this is the law. I side with the Deputy & his Dept. |

Yeah I wasn't there but if the idiot blew up at some clerical worker in the firearms office (in Allegheny county I know we don't typically have uniformed deputies in there) perhaps after the guy left she went and talked to one of the deputies, who then took it to the sheriff and the sheriff felt his actions warrented charges.
I agree that the law currently says that you can be denied if they have reason to believe that you will act in an irrational manner. I think wigging out in the sheriff's office over a month on a LTCF is irrational. Especially since it seems they went out of their way, they could have just told him to stuff it and they had his check and he had his LTCF, but they went the extra step to re-issue his old LTCF and give him his check back.
