Default Did anyone watch Fred Thompson?

I just never thought Fred Thompson would be such a great speaker. He beat Obama's ass with that speech tonight. Seriously, he had the crown nearly crying, laughing, on their feet, and chanting U.S.A.!

I knew he would hit it good. I always like him. Here is Lieberman, I love watching history unfold.

Be safe.

Fred's speach really did a good job to energize and put the opposition into perspective. I think it should have been the closer. Lieberman was good, but I had a hard time staying awake. He's just not really that enthralling.

On a side note does lieberman remind anyone else of Teller?

I agree 100% with your assessment. Lieberman is a horrible speaker but he really broke ground and made Obama look bad by crossing party lines and pointing out that while they were calling for party unity, the theme at the Republican convention was "country first." He pointed out that Obama never crossed party lines and then attempted to appeal to independents and moderates with the Clinton reference.

Just my opinion but Fred's speech blew Obama's away and the significance of Lieberman's speech, considering he was on the Dem ticket recently, has the Dems pissed.

Damn it! We can not continue to agree. I can't spread the rep enough. I disagree with McCain on a host of issues, but one thing I will NEVER again do is question his motivations. I really began to rethink the motives of ALL of our politicians again last night. Even if they scare the shit out of me I think they are all doing it because they think they have the answers. I can despise their methods (attacking Palin), but the motives behind those attacks are another matter entirely.

Fred Thompson was always pretty good at delivering a speech. I was really pumped after that speech, and it made me feel good about being an American and a veteran of this country. After hearing some of the thing McCain went through in that Prison Camp...it put a lot of thing into perspective for me personally.

I think Thompsons speech was clearly better then Obama's...way more sincere.
