well, i never heard of anyone being killed over weed, sticking up a liquor store to get money for weed, being sent into a killing spree over weed, or ODing on weed, so.....

to be honest, i'd like to see less restrictions on pot, and see more on alcohol. tax the hell out of tobacco and alcohol and pot, and put that money to work for us.

Oh, there's been plenty of innocent people killed in botched raids to enforce weed laws, but not a single overdose.

The laws are the only thing causing the deaths re: marijuana.

The one thing that needs to be borne in mind about the decriminalization of marijuana is that there is a growing body of clinical evidence - from highly regarded research institutions, that associates marijuana use with an increased risk of mental illness, most notably schizophrenia. The data is associative, rather than causative as you would expect from this type of study - so although it's not possible to say marijuana causes this type of psychosis, it may be that in those who have a predisposition for schizophrenia the drug use uncovers the condition.

Basically if a close (first or second degree) relative has a history of psychotic mental illness it might be prudent to avoid pot. Schizophrenia is a multifactorial disease and we just don't know how big a factor drug use will prove to be.

Well, people smoke pot all the time. When was the last time you heard of someone going crazy because he smoked weed. Never heard it here. I agree alcohol is much harder on the body than weed is. I think the law against weed is a little ridiculous if you ask me.

Government needs to fuck off. Decriminalization is a farce.

The only answer is legalization of all drugs.

Repeal the unconstitutional laws and the bad laws.

Absolutely.
I personally don't like alcohol or any other drug and will refrain from use no matter what the law is. But if someone wants to partake in these substances they should be able to without fear of government reprisal.
Government has no business telling you how to live your life and treat your body.
For gods sake look at it logically. Drugs are bad for you so in order to protect you from yourself you will be incarcerated or killed. WTF sense does that make?
