That was bad. Horrible beat, and no lyrical skills.

Unghh, I hate how rap has gone seriously down hill since the early 90's and even then it was far from the early 80's where you could see lots of speed, lyrical tricks, and real skill in addition to having light hearted fun with it on occasion and of course social commentary like NWA.

Heh nobody is going to beat Run DMC for good solid all around skills.

Would you accept it coming from a guy that grew up and cut his cultural teeth in Beltzhoover, East Liberty, Mount Washington, Garfield, Lawrenceville and Wilkinsburg? While Punisher's delivery was like shitting on the podium before you open your speech, he has something of a point.

What's so bad about that? You don't understand it, so it's just stupid? Okay, fine, it's your right to form your own opinions, but it's kinda hard to remain intellectually honest when criticizing something you don't really get in the first place. And if it's not an issue of honest disconnect and you just can't be bothered to engage your brain and actually invest in understanding what the words actually represent (for this rap song and any other)...that's your right too. But you have to wonder then, if we're tossing out the retard-shoes based on that, then who's the real Cinderella?

Ludacris is excited about a candidate that represents something to him that's important. So he's on the wrong side of the issues in certain people's opinions, it's his right to express himself without regard to the tastes of others.

I actually heard someone call this song "blatantly racist", I nearly emptied bladder right there.

OMFG! he said "paint the whitehouse black"! OMFG, NegroNazi!!!!!!11!!!

Seriously, when you got guys like Kid Rock and a bunch of country singers humping the Republican leg, you're gonna have to watch those glass walls when tossing your rocks.

P.S. Lancaster is fucking ghetto, you better chiggity-check yo self before you wriggity-wreck yo self.

P.P.S. - I'm not a hip-hop fan by any means, if I pass you in the SUV, you'll be more likely to get blasted by some death metal than Ludacris (though I do pimp some rap on occasion).

P.P.P.S. - And thus, based on the silly direction this thread took, my grand contribution to the site tonight is to defend Ludacris and his song about Barak-fucking-Obama. Somewhere, the almighty whomever is pushing nuns off a bridge in disgust.

I like my hip-hop to have some good lyrics involving something interesting (and not about smacking around bitches, smoking weed, killing people, or going to the club) and with a little creativity, a nice solid beat, and keeps me coming back for another listen.

Same requirements I have for any genre of music I listen to. I didn't find that in Luda's song. I won't touch on anything else.

I still like Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kewli, and others.

I like the beat on this one, not all the lyrics but it's a solid song.

Is this a thread or a pie fight?

The Ludacris video pulled out every stereotype but fried chicken and watermelon. Yes, I wanna vote for Obama because he can dribble behind his back and make a chest pass without looking at his target. Gimme a break!

As I've said elsewhere, mostly to silence from Obama supporters, and as andrewjs18 said, what makes him black when he's half white? They may not want to admit it, but labeling him only supports old notions based upon percentages of blood.

Could you imagine, if he had had one more white ancestor, posters saying "Vote for the Quadroon"? For the left to hang their hats on his negritude is absurd.

This is not a cultural manifesto that Luda has published. He is blatantly racist, but not just about painting the white house black. That just represents the "change" we hope will not come about. The vhemence that is used when talking about the "first black president" and also used to call Hillary a bitch and Bush a retard and to say McCain should not be in a chair unless he is paralyzed exhibits his hate for people who are white. If I were to make similar comments about say a women's basketball team that had both white and black thugged out women were a bunch of nappy headed hos I would instantly be labled as a racist. Coupled with that song Obama's comments about conservatives trying to make people scared because he has a funny name and looks different than the other presidents on the dollar and five dollar bill and I think you can see the problem with saying there is no racial undertone.

I was born in SE DC, I grew up with a brother my parents welcomed into our home because his crack whore (honest to god she was) could not care for him. Oh he is black. I lived in West Philly. There are just as many racist black people as there are racist white people. Quit trying to make this something it is not. We can easily be intilectual about a rap song even if we are not part of that "culture."

This guy has no talent...
on the other hand, I recently came across this you tube video...
reminds me of the good ole days when rap wasnt about hate, violence, racism, etc. etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuK2A1ZqoWs

kinda different, but catchy....
but whats that? talent? sounds like a real drum kit to me... and that is for sure a horn!! holy crap!

The beginning sounds a bit hokey, but it gets really political about half way through... with more subtlety than that Ludacris idiot.

"Cuz I can lead a nation with a microphone...." - pretty cryptic.

I have my rifle. Do you?

Although he is about 7% black, he will be considered black.

I have 4 bi-racial daughters (white/black) and they will tell you they are black if asked. They are treated as such at times,m like when starting a new school, girl scouts, etc... You should see the looks I get when I take the 4 with me to Wal-mart. I had a big azz black woman stop me and asked what is a White man doing with 4 little black girls. My oldest (then 16) piped up on que and said we the ho's I then added, "and they are my daughters." She left with the dumbest look on her face... And you can rest assured we'll be taking advantage of the minority women schollarships out there (especially our oldest who is now going on 28.

My girls like hip-hop, but find the womanizing offensive. We raised them better. Our teen dated a few guys that treaded her like a getto ho, and she has learned better.

While we encourage them to realize the black heritage, and be proud of being the beautiful black women thay are, the being promoted is complete bullshit , unless you are into the powerless, victim mentality where everyone owes you.

That will get you no where fast.
